The luminosity-redshift relation in brane-worlds: II. Confrontation with experimental data
Gyula M Szabó, László Á Gergely, Zoltán Keresztes PMC Physics A 2007, 1:8 (12 December 2007)
The luminosity distance-redshift relation for a wide class of generalized Randall-Sundrum type II brane-world models with Weyl fluid is compared to the presently available supernova data. We find that there is a class of spacially flat models with different amounts of matter and Weyl fluid, which have a very similar fitting quality. -
Interactive visualization of multidimensional coincidence spectra
Miroslav Morháč, Vladislav Matoušek PMC Physics A 2007, 1:7 (23 November 2007)
Direct visualization techniques of multidimensional nuclear spectra are presented, as well as visualization techniques based on projections of embedded subspaces. While the first group of graphical models is limited to four dimensions, the second one can be theoretically extended to any dimension. -
Exclusive ρ0 production in deep inelastic scattering at HERA
PMC Physics A 2007, 1:6 (12 November 2007)
Exclusive rho^0 electroproduction at HERA has been studied with the ZEUS detector using 120 pb^{-1} of integrated luminosity collected during 1996-2000. The results include the Q^2 and W dependence of the gamma^* p --> rho^0 p cross section and the distribution of the squared-four-momentum transfer to the proton. -
Semi-analytical approach to magnetized temperature autocorrelations
Massimo Giovannini PMC Physics A 2007, 1:5 (18 October 2007)
Cosmic microwave background temperature autocorrelations, induced by a magnetized adiabatic mode of curvature inhomogeneities, are computed with semi-analytical methods. The implications of this investigation for the origin of large-scale magnetic fields in the Universe are discussed, as are connections with forthcoming experimental observations. -
The luminosity-redshift relation in brane-worlds: I. Analytical results
Zoltán Keresztes, László Á Gergely, Botond Nagy, Gyula M Szabó PMC Physics A 2007, 1:4 (2 October 2007)
The luminosity distance-redshift relation is analytically given for generalized Randall-Sundrum type II brane-world models containing Weyl fluid either as dark radiation or as a radiation field from the brane. The derived analytical results are suitable for future testing of the models. -

Dilaton and off-shell (non-critical string) effects in Boltzmann equation for species abundances
AB Lahanas, NE Mavromatos, DV Nanopoulos PMC Physics A 2007, 1:2 (2 October 2007)
The amount of dark matter left over from the early universe may be less than previously believed. This paper shows that the "relic abundance" of stable dark matter particles such as the neutralino may be reduced as compared to standard cosmology theories due to the effects of the dilaton. -
