We are very pleased to announce membership agreements with the CERN and DESY high-energy physics laboratories. Under these agreements the organizations will centrally cover article-processing charges for all research published by their investigators in the peer-reviewed open access journal, PMC Physics A.
PhysMath Central's Christopher Leonard commented, "We are exceptionally pleased to welcome these major institutions on board. This reinforces CERN and DESY's commitment to supporting open access publication of the research from their laboratories. Central funding for article processing charges makes life much simpler for authors, and so accelerates the take up of open access."

We recently launched an official BioMed Central video channel on YouTube. This includes many interviews with authors and editors of open access journals on BioMed Central, but that's not all! It also includes several videos of interest to physicists and librarians, from the likes of CERN's Jens Vigen & Robert Aymar and also PMC Physics A Editor-in-Chief, Ken Peach
[Pt.1, Pt.2, Pt.3].
We will be adding more videos over the coming |

Exactly what it says! All published articles from PMC Physics A are now available in the central bibliographic resource for high-energy physics, SPIRES-HEP. We expect more news in this area soon.
|

We are pleased to announce that 8 articles have been published so far in PMC Physics A and we expect the first papers for PMC Physics B to be published very early in the new year. In the meantime, if you have any ideas for a new open access journal in your field, we'd love to hear about it. Email us at newjournals@physmathcentral.com.

We'll be back with more news, articles and journals in the New Year. All that remains for this year is to say many thanks to everyone who has supported us so far; librarians, editors, authors, reviewers, editorial boards and everyone else who has helped us on the first step to bringing true open access to all areas of physics, mathematics and computer science. Cheers!
