Editor-in-Chief: Stephen Buckman (Australian National University) and Peter Hatton (University of Durham)
Aims & scope
PMC Physics B is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes articles on condensed matter, atomic, molecular and optical physics and the interfaces between these areas. Read more
The journal is jointly edited by Professors Stephen Buckman and Peter Hatton, supported by an Editorial Board representing the subject areas within the journal's scope.
Copyright for research articles is retained by the author, who is free to distribute the article electronically or after printing, or to ask the publishers to do so. Discussion and debate concerning articles published in PMC Physics B is actively encouraged; readers have the facility to append comments to articles, and all such communications are moderated by the editors.
Quotes
“I am delighted to be working with PhysMath Central and to be one of the editors for this ambitious journal. As well as providing a open access option for scientists to publish their very best work on condensed matter or AMO physics, we are particularly excited to cover emerging areas which were traditionally at the interface of one or the other discipline.”

Absolute angle-differential cross-section data are presented for excitation of the 3p54s manifold in argon by electron impact. The investigation focuses on the near-threshold region, where previous studies have revealed persistent disparities between measurements and theoretical predictions.

A combined detailed analysis and comparison has been carried out to find a connection with the dynamic two-electron correlation picture in charge transfer collision processes which involve sequential/simultaneous two-electron exchange. If electron translation factors are included, the work may open up opportunities to investigate dynamic two-electron correlation effect in charge transfer ion-atom collision processes with benchmark accuracy.
